Coreless Induction Furnace Working Principle
Coreless induction furnace is a special induction furnaces. There is no metal core passing through the inductor in the induction furnace. The alternating magnetic field is mainly generated by the induction coil surrounding the crucible.

Coreless Induction Furnace Working Principle
The coreless induction furnaces working principle is to heat the metal by the alternating magnetic field generated by the heating current in the furnace. The details are as follows:
The metal charge in the IF is placed in a crucible without a ferromagnetic core. When the induction coil is energized, high-frequency alternating current is generated to form a magnetic field. This magnetic field generates eddy currents in the metal, which quickly heats the metal to the required temperature.
1. Magnetic field generation:
When the induction coil close to the crucible is passed with a medium-frequency or high-frequency alternating current, an alternating magnetic field is generated around the crucible. This magnetic field is like an air core transformer. The crucible is equivalent to the "primary winding" of the transformer, and the metal charge in the crucible is equivalent to the "secondary winding".
2. Induction current generation:
Under the action of the alternating magnetic field, a strong induced current will be generated inside the short-circuited metal charge. The magnitude and direction of this induced current will change with the change of the magnetic field.
3. Heat generation:
As the induced current flows, the resistance on the surface of the metal charge will generate heat. This heat will gradually heat and melt the metal charge.
4. Heat transfer:
The heat generated by the induction coil is mainly transferred to the metal charge in the crucible to melt it. At the same time, since the magnetic field only acts on the surface of the heated material, the heating efficiency is high, the heat loss is small, and the heating is uniform.
