Submerged arc electric furnaces, also known as electric arc furnaces or resistance furnaces, are primarily used for the reduction and smelting of ores, carbonaceous reducing agents, and solvents to produce ferroalloys such as ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, ferrochrome, ferrotungsten, and ferrosilicon-manganese alloys, as well as chemical products like calcium carbide.


Submerged arc furnaces smelt using electric arc or resistance heating. Based on the power supply method, they can be classified as AC, DC, and low-frequency submerged arc furnace. Their submerged operation minimizes air exposure and improves smelting efficiency.


SAF smelting furnaces are crucial equipment in the metallurgical and chemical industries, playing a key role in modern industry.


Main Applications of Submerged Arc Electric Furnaces

Ferroalloy Production:
